Preview the Research →Hair thinning is more biologically complex than most solutions admit.
Most products treat hair like a cosmetic problem. Underneath the scalp, hair follicle health and the scalp environment are quietly losing ground. Restoration starts with understanding what’s upstream of the strand thinning.
For decades, hair loss care has relied on a narrow set of options.
Most were not designed with hair follicle biology in mind. Some carry systemic tradeoffs or require invasive treatments. Others focus on secondary factors without directly addressing the deeper systems that control how hair grows.
Minoxidil is a vasodilator originally developed to lower blood pressure. In hair follicles, it is thought to support growth by improving local blood flow, but because it still affects vascular activity and can irritate of spread beyond the scalp, side effects may include shedding, itching, flaking, unwanted facial or body hair, dizziness, swelling and cardiovascular issues.
Finasteride was originally used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia and was later found to help slow androgen-driven follicle miniaturization. However, since it affects hormone signaling, possible side effects include reduced libido, sexual dysfunction, and mood changes, including depression. Finasteride is not FDA-approved for use in women and should not be used during pregnancy, as exposure may pose a risk to a developing male fetus.
Hair-growth supplements are designed to support hair from within, but their effects depend on digestion, absorption, baseline nutrient status, and whether the body actually needs the vitamins or minerals. Effects may include nausea, bloating, stomach discomfort, diarrhea and medication interactions.
Cosmetic hair serums may improve scalp feel and make hair appear healthier, but many rely on botanical ingredients, conditioning agents, and cosmetic claims rather than proprietary actives with strong evidence for targeting the follicle and its surrounding environment. Evidence is often limited, and differences in formula stability or scalp penetration can make results inconsistent. Side effects may include irritation, itching, flaking, sensitivity, or contact dermatitis.
The result is a category with limited innovation and incomplete answers.
That's where NOVOGRO™ begins.
Introducing NOVOGRO™
A multi-pathway approach built from the ground up to target multiple failure modes in damaged hair follicles - from the inside out and the outside in - not just the thinning you can see.
NV-623 / 624
Boosts Dermal Papilla Cell Health
Energizes follicle dermal papilla cells to support stronger, longer growth cycles. In a 3D hair follicle model, NV-623 & NV-624 showed 30% greater growth compared against minoxidil.
NV-273
Primes the Scalp Environment for Growth
Promotes stronger and more durable pro-regenerative signaling to support cell metabolism, growth factors, and microvasculature.
NV-1065
FutureDefends Against Hormonal-driven Follicle Miniaturization
Demonstrates DHT inhibition comparable to dutasteride as a non-steroidal molecule - meaning no hormone-related side effects.
Clinical Validation In Progress
A 150+ subject, 6-month, double-blinded, randomized controlled trial comparing NOVOGRO™ -powered serum (NV-273, NV-623, NV-624) with a minoxidil benchmark arm is currently underway.
We anticipate the interim dataset will be available by the end of July. As data becomes available, the research team will share first-look clinical updates with the email waitlist.
Read the Preprint
Our preprint walks through NOVOGRO™'s multi-pathway philosophy and the early lab data that informed the first round of clinical studies. It’s technical, it’s unfinished, and we’d rather share it now than polish it indefinitely.
